Imogene M. Franklin

Imogene M. Franklin, 104, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at the J.F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Imogene was born July 12, 1907 in Gordonsville, VA to the late Nimrod and Nellie (Petty) Murphy. On June 28, 1930 in Niles, MI she married George Franklin, who preceded her in death on March 28, 1980. She is survived by a son Michael (Suzie) Franklin of Fletcher, NC, one grandchild and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters; Irene Fansher and Margaret Fransher and four brothers; Orville, Winfred, Melvin and Otis Murphy. Imogene was a registered Nurse and retired in 1969 from Electro-Voice where she held the position of Industrial Nurse. She was a member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Swem Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Buchanan, MI with Father Carl Peltz officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
