Dorothy Farm Stromswold, 91, of Buchanan, Michigan died Friday, December 23, 2011 at Lakeland Medical Center in Niles, Michigan. Dorothy was born January 13, 1920 in Mankato, Minnesota to the late Andrew and Mary Farm. On October 20, 1942 in Great Lakes, Illinois she married Stanley A. Stromswold who preceded her in death in 1998. Her daughter Carol Stromswold also preceded her in 2010. A brother and sister preceded her in death as well.
Dorothy was a 1937 graduate of Good Counsel Academy in Mankato, Minnesota and a 1941 graduate of Minnesota University. As a college senior she was chosen for inclusion in "Who's Who" among students in American colleges and Universities.
Dorothy was survived by her sister in-law, Lorraine Rice Farm of Mankota, Minnesota and five nieces and nephews: Gail Farm Loken, of Dunedin, Florida, David Farm of Burnsville, Minnesota, Donna Farm Stanke of Mankato, Minnesota, Pamela Farm Mayer of Minneapolis, Minnesota and James Farm of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
After living in Minnesota, Alabama and Colorado, the Stromswolds moved to Buchanan, Michigan in 1952 where Mr. Stromswold joined the Buchanan School System as Director of Guidance.
Dorothy was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Buchanan and served as a Deacon and Elder. She is listed in "Who's Who in America" and "Who's Who of American Women."

Services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Swem Chapel. Pastor Pat Ramsden of First Presbyterian Church will be officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
